Communicating and elevating our concepts through art & music

is where we can begin to understand and connect with each other beyond the lens of our own experience.

The Little Mermaid (Original Score)

Created for Rose Hutchins's Ballet, The Little Mermaid (2024). This evening length ballet premiered in August of 2024 in Portland, Maine. The creative process focused on creating two different sound worlds to distinguish both above and below the surface. The choreographer and I worked closely to build a common language between the choreography and composition. This is the first score off the album featuring a series of vignettes to introduce all the characters of the ocean world.

Yuri (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

This score was created for the short film Yuri, in collaboration with director Johnnie Hobbs. Each musical element was thoughtfully chosen to serve a specific purpose. The score's minimalist approach reflects the unfolding narrative, guiding the audience through a journey that focuses on the essence of humanity. As the story progresses, the instruments gradually come together, symbolizing the growing connection between the two main characters and providing a sense of peace in the resolution.

If You Wanna Come Closer

Created in collaboration with dance artist, Jacqui DeFranca, to be featured in her dance reel. Having performed together over the years I really wanted the score to capture all the layers and textures she brings to her craft. I highlighted her power and virtuosity through the use of percussion and vocal elements and used a melodic synth and crashing bells to emphasize her trance-like presence on stage. Paul's Dream (Concept Score)

This is a concept score created for a school project where we created a new score for a movie trailer. This is for the 2021 film Dune originally scored by the legendary Hans Zimmer. This trailer moved like a dream sequence with vast landscapes and visions of a woman in the desert. The first melody you hear is a war cry that tells you something is coming, something other worldly, and ominous. I chose the voice to be the featured instrument to parallel the use of the voice in the film which holds a lot of mystical power.

Procession & Postlude

Created for Subcircle's dance performance of Vesper, which premiered in July 2022 at the Ocean Park Temple in Maine. Inspired by the movement of the dancers and the architecture of the temple, these two scores invoke the power of rituals past and present. Procession is a nod to the Italian court dances during the Baroque era, where as Postlude in its hypnotic ambient quality calls on a more modern and meditative practice.

Ping Pong Pang

Created in collaboration with dance artist Scott McPheeters, and was developed through a call and response process via a series of dance and music improvisations. This led to a dialogue through which we explored the embodiment of empathy.

Either Way It's Going Down (Original Song)

Created in collaboration with filmmaker and choreographer Elizabeth Mulkey for the dance film Red in 2021 and explores the complexities of self-confidence, will power, and an unyielding sense of hope.

Unseen

Unseen was commissioned by Middle Tennessee State University's Department of Theatre and Dance and created to accompany the live performance of Unseen choreographed by Joy Davis. This score draws inspiration from radio waves, morse code, and satellite communication.

Send Back My Love

Send Back My Love  was originally commissioned by TranscenDance theatre of San Diego, CA and was featured in their 2020 dance film. This revisited version expands deeper in to the Lofi genre with additional jazz elements and a sample from Ella Fitzgerald's Solitude.
